| Gala 2010 - We are all sorry that we shall not be holding our annual gala this October. There are building works adjacent to the Farrer Theatre which have restricted available parking space. In addition, the Drawing Schools will not be available for our reception in the interval. We shall be up and running again in October 2011 when we hope we shall have the pleasure of entertaining as many of our supporters as possible for the ever popular Gilbert and Sullivan operetta "The Gondoliers". |

The Rotary Club of Windsor St. George is proud to have served Windsor and the surrounding areas for 28 years. Our club was chartered on 22 November 1982.
We are a small friendly club known for our hard work and warm welcome to guests. We currently have 32 members, both men and women, who contribute to the fellowship and service we enjoy. As an active, thriving service club we are involved in the full range of Rotary activities across all channels of service covering local, national and international causes. There are two Rotary clubs in Royal Windsor.
The Rotary Club of Windsor St. George meets every Tuesday evening at the The Manor Hotel. The Rotary Club of Windsor and Eton meets every Monday lunchtime at the Castle Hotel.
If you would like to find out more about what we do or would like to visit contact the Secretary on 07831 170719 or e-mail secretary@windsorstgeorgerotary.org.uk.
Over the past Rotary year our club took part in national Rotary initiatives such as:
- Stroke Awareness Day when we helped to take over 100,000 blood pressure readings.
- Rotary Kids Out that gave over 20,000 disadvantaged children a day out to remember
- Youth Speaks where young people demonstrate public speaking skills
- RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) where young adults (18-25) develop qualities of leadership, team working, initiative and problem solving at the start of their careers
What we do internationally and locally
Community projects the Windsor clubs are involved in include the Mkuranga Water Project, which is providing clean drinking water to schools and villages in a remote area of Tanzania overseen by a Rotary club in the area. Now over 6,000 more people are enjoying safe, clean water and already water-borne disease is falling in this area. Closer to home the clubs provide parcels on a regular basis to families in need in the local area, organise an annual river trip and evening drives for old people and, working together with other service clubs, take the housebound Christmas shopping in Windsor and organise a senior citizens lunch at Wexham Park Hospital.
Regular public events organised by Rotary in Windsor include;
- Royal Windsor Midsummer Fayre
- Charity Operatic Gala (performed by the Windsor & Eton Operatic Society)
- Festival of Christmas Music & Readings
- Christmas Concert
- Windsor Schools Music Festival
- Rotary Youth Speaks
Further ongoing International work includes supporting the Rotary Shelterbox project, which provide a rapid response of shelter in the wake of disasters. Thanks to the generosity of the public, Rotary in Windsor raised over £12,500 for the Asian Tsunami Disaster alone.
